The Joynton Smith Suite
This elegant suite is named in honour of Sir James Joynton Smith, owner of the Carrington from 1911 to 1943, responsible for some of the hotel's favourite architectural details, the stained glass dome at the entrance to the Grand Dining Room and the Art Noveau internal verandah stained glass. Joynton Smith is also responsible for bringing electricity to Katoomba, building the power station and the Carrington's famous chimney and establishing our first bank, now The Old City Bank Bar and Brasserie.
Located on the first floor of The Carrington Hotel, this two room Suite also offers direct access to the first floor shared balcony with views across Katoomba towards the Jamison Valley.
