Dining at The Carrington Hotel

Looking to celebrate a special occassion, enjoy a night out or just a casual meal? The Carrington Hotel has something to suit all occassions.

The Grand Dining Room

Featuring soaring columns, lofty gilded ceilings and stained glass, the Grand Dining Room is one of the last Victorian dining rooms still operating in Australia.  The Grand Dining Room you see today is almost identical to the orginal room built in 1886 but with a few modern concessions for comfort and convenience. 

Evening Dining

The Grand Dining Room offers a seasonal a 'la carte menu with an emphasis on fresh ingredients sourced from the Blue Mountains and Central West region of New South Wales. Our Menus are created by Executive Chef, Stefan Klaunzer and his talented team of local and international chefs.

High Tea

High Tea is an age-old tradition at The Carrington Hotel and our Grand High Tea has become a well loved event on Sunday afternoons. Offering a fine selection of finger sandwiches, mouth watering cakes, scones with jam and cream and savoury treats all made in-house, high tea is a time for unhurried afternoon conversations while listening to the soothing sounds of our pianist.

Available on Sunday afternoons from 2:30pm - 5:00pm or by private booking with our events team

Champagne Charlie's Cocktail Bar

Champagne Charlie was originally a nickname given to French Champagne merchant Charles Heidseick in the 1850's, subsequently it has come to be used as a nickname for anyone who lives a Champagne lifestyle in a metropolis. Lord Carrington, the Governor of N.S.W,  adopted this name as he was notorious for drinking Champagne with breakfast each and every morning.

Open from 11:00am daily, Champagne Charlies is the only cocktail bar in Katoomba. Offering a selection of traditional and contemporary cocktails, boutique beers and an extensive wine list there is sure to be something to satisfy the discerning connoisseur.

Champagne Charlie's offers lunch daily until 4:30pm.

 

The Old City Bank Bar and Brasserie

Opened in June 1912 as a branch of the City Bank of Sydney, the building remained a bank until the 1930's when it became the Carrington Saloon Bar. Re-opened in the 1990's after forced closure in 1986, The Old City Bank Bar and Brasserie has become a local staple consistently offerring good quality and innovative pub food. In 2010 it was inducted in to the Australian Hotel's Hall of Fame.

Located at the bottom of the driveway, The Old City Bank Bar and Brasserie offers an informal dining experience for lunch and dinner, meals can be enjoyed upstairs in the Brasserie or downstairs in the Bar. Fully licensed the Bar and Brasserie offers a selction of beers and ciders on tap alongside a selection of wines and spirits.

Lunch: 12:00pm - 2:30pm daily
