Named in honour of Sir James Joynton Smith, owner of the Carrington from 1911 to 1943, responsible for some of the hotel's favourite architectural details including the stained glass dome and the Art Noveau stained glass at the hotel's entrance. Joynton Smith is also responsible for building Katoomba's first power station including the Carrington's famous chimney and establishing our first bank, now The Old City Bank Bar and Brasserie.

Located on the First Floor, this two-room suite also offers direct access to the first floor shared balcony with views across Katoomba towards the Jamison Valley.
